ballerina belle

One of my lifelong dreams was to become a ballerina, and even though I was never able to take more than one class, I love everything ballet related. In fashion, you can get inspired to recreate a ballerina look by combining a tulle skirt with blouses, stripped shirts, tshirts and even sneakers. Here’s a selection on my favorite ballet-inspired looks.

So, when I came across these two tulle skirt DIY, that you can check out here, and here, I didn’t hesitate to make my own.

kimono looks

The cardigan kimono diy was a huge success! I’ve worn it a couple of times already. Here I’ve prepared three looks that show the versatility of the kimono.

Kimonos go great with shorts for a casual evening or a day full of errands.

Pair it with a dress for a more feminine look, perfect for a date or a girl’s brunch.

Substitute the typical blazer for a look that you can wear to the office.

happy belated birthday… to me!

Life has been a little hectic, and though I turned 29 last February 14, I hadn’t shared my looks. Celebrating a birthday over a whole weekend is quite fun ^.^bday1friday am/pm :: Had a meeting early in the morning, and then pizza with a bunch of friends, so jeans and a chiffon blouse were the best options.bday2saturday am :: for a brunch with the girls, I turned to my inner gypsy, with a sophisticated turn.

bday3saturday pm :: after watching the sunset, spent the night with some friends over at the beach, which is great if you love kaftans.

bday4sunday am :: since I was meeting a friend for lunch after church, the pastel lace dress + loafers combo seemed the most appropriate.

pale pink

I have to confess my obsession with pale pink items. My favorite recent looks include a soft pastel pink item, and I’ve realized I’m unconsciously drawn towards that color.

winter trip to evansville

I’ve been enjoying the cold weather, while visiting my sister at Evansville IN, only because I get to play with coats and boots. Sometimes it is hard to decide what to wear because the main factor is to not get cold, while maintaining a fashionable look.

The trick? Always wear a cool piece, like a scarf or pair of boots, and work your way around it.fauxwinter

A pop of color and animal print never go wrong. bikerdenim

Denim is great for mixing different textures.

Statement pieces stand out more with basics.

quiz mix :: female action hero

You are Princess Leia.
You are down-to-earth and stick to a rigid sense of ethics. Nerds may lust over you, but everyone looks to you for your grounded logic an intellect.

I do like her style and personality very much (turtle neck included) and would definitely wear a total white look during these christmas days.

dominicana moda ’14

Dominicana Moda is the biggest fashion week of my country, and I was lucky to be a style reporter for @MujerBHDLeón. Spending all six days at fashion week was at times exhausting and overwhelming, but participating on all shows and seeing the clothes on the runway was really fun.dm1

DAY 1 :: Pick up colors from a key piece and accessorize using those colors.

DAY 2 :: Nothing is more stylish than a black and white ensemble, with an unexpected touch of color.

DAY 3 :: When mixing stripes and florals make sure the color palette is the same.

DAY 4 :: Masculine pieces can be combined together without looking like a tomboy, just be sure the pieces have some feminine details.

DAY 5 :: Sporty can be turned into glam by combining ladylike pieces, such as a red lip and pearls.

DAY 6 :: A boho halter dress is a great option for saturday morning events.
